Utah school districts
The same standardized figures for every one of Utah’s 41 public school districts, built from the districts’ Annual Financial Reports to the State Board of Education. Tooele County School District is the project’s first case study; this is where it sits in the statewide picture.
All 41 districts, combined
Total revenue and total spending across Utah’s school districts. Spending includes construction and debt payments, which can run ahead of revenue in years when bond proceeds are being spent.
How the districts compare
Choose a measure and year. Tooele is highlighted in yellow and its three initial peers in their usual colors. Select a district to open its profile. Dollar totals mostly reflect district size; shares and ratios put districts of different sizes on the same scale.
Where Tooele stands
Tooele’s value, the statewide median, and Tooele’s rank among the 41 districts (1 = highest), for the latest year available. A high or low rank is a starting point for questions, not a judgment.

School districts only; charter schools are excluded until their figures can be shown with a clear district/charter distinction. All dollars on this page are nominal, not adjusted for inflation (how we adjust for inflation on the Tooele case-study pages). Per-student figures divide by October 1 enrollment, which includes students in district-run online programs — so districts with large online programs (Tooele through FY2023, Iron) show lower per-student figures in those years. FY2012–FY2024 come from USBE’s Tableau Public extracts and FY2025 from USBE’s Excel summaries; the two agree for FY2024 in 162 of 164 district-level checks (see validation).
